The fruit comes from the warm Castelnuovo Berardenga comune of the Chianti Classico appellation. On the one hand, this wine delivers some of the simplicity and streamlined personality of a classic Sangiovese. On the other hand, you taste the plushness and extra texture of this sunny vintage. I prefer this wine to the estate's inaugural Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from the same vintage. This feels like a wine for spinach and ricotta ravioli dishes. Some 13,000 bottles were made.
