The 2022 Maduresa was very recently bottled and the nose feels a little dizzy, but the palate reveals what I had seen in other 2022s when compared with their 2021 counterparts: more finesse, brightness and intensity. It's a more complete wine with more of everything, including balance. The varietal breakdown is a little higher in Cari?ena (35%), with 60% Monastrell and 5% total of Mandó and Arcos. Seeing the elegant and sleek palate, I am confident the wine will develop nicely in bottle, and the nose should recover and get brighter and more defined than it showed today. It matured in 225- and 500-liter French oak barrels for 11 months. 20,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in November 2023.

There was a note of nutmeg and black pepper in the 2021 Maduresa, which was produced with a blend of 75% Monastrell, 15% Cari?ena and 5% each Mandó and Arcos. It fermented with 30% full clusters and indigenous yeast in stainless steel and went through malolactic and 12 months of aging in 225- and 500-liter French oak barrels. It has a moderate 13.5% alcohol and good freshness, with ripe berries and herbs and abundant, slightly dusty tannins. 20,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2022.

The 2020 Maduresa has great Mediterranean character and combines structure and power with finesse and elegance in one of the finest vintages for this blend that has been changing through the years, but it changed radically in 2016; and in 2020, it is 80% Monastrell and 10% each Cari?ena and Mandó, the first year it has Mandó (again). It has 14% alcohol, as the grapes ripened thoroughly that year while keeping good freshness and balance reflected in a pH of 3.45. Despite its youth, the wine feels very expressive and harmonious and with great finesse. It's medium to full-bodied, with some meaty notes, serious, structured and terrifically balanced. This is a superb Mediterranean red full of character that should develop nicely in bottle. 20,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2021.

Their flagship classical red changed radically in 2016, and since then, it's been a blend of 80% Monastrell and 20% Cari?ena. The 2019 Maduresa follows that recipe with a small adaptation, as the complement to Monastrell is now 10% each Cari?ena and Mandó. It fermented with 30% full clusters and indigenous yeast in stainless steel and had only 10 months of aging in 225- and 500-liter French oak barrels. It's austere with very integrated oak and great harmony, very Mediterranean and expressive, very harmonious and accessible at this very early age. This is without a doubt the vintage of Maduresa with more finesse, freshness and nuance. It might seem irrelevant, but I think the 10% (unoaked) Mandó has made a big difference... 20,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2020.

Their flagship classical red 2017 Maduresa is now a blend of 80% Monastrell with 20% Cari?ena from vines planted in 1996 on sandy soils at 550 meters in altitude. The bunches were partially destemmed and fermented in stainless steel vats followed by malolactic and 12 months of aging in 225- ad 500-liter French oak barrels. It follows the line of the 2016, subtler and more in line with the Parotet and Vermell than the Alcusses, as this is now 100% Mediterranean varieties. It has more power, structure and concentration but with great balance and freshness, showing the character of the zone. It has abundant, fine-grained tannins, clean and focused flavors and a dry finish. 13,000 bottles were filled in October 2018.
