The 2009 Veriki (a 50/50 Chardonnay and Robola blend), revisited this issue just for a quick check-in, is well integrated now. It is at peak now, although it should hold for a few more years. Tinged by a bit of grapefruit and a touch of grass, it remains bright and sunny, although a touch more subdued and better integrated now, and also, in its more sedate form, not quite as interesting frankly, although still fine. What makes this different than the general run of the mill white is, I think, the subtle viscosity, its texture as it warms up slightly and airs out. It seems easy to drink on opening and on release – but it shows surprising persistence. It drinks well, with both some solidity and personality, a combination not many have. Drink now-2014.
