The 1990 Palazzo Altesi (100% Sangiovese Grosso, of which 25% is vinified by the carbonic maceration method) is a voluptuously-styled, fat, fleshy wine offering gobs of sweet, smoky, black-cherry and curranty fruit, a decadent personality, and a lush, glycerin-imbued, alcoholic, sumptuously rich finish. Forward and seductive, it should be drunk over the next 5-7 years.
A top-notch producer, Altesino has once again turned out a bevy of super wines.
