The Fanti 2017 Brunello di Montalcino shows a slightly robust consistency and a heavier center of gravity compared to recent past releases. The wine is sensual and rich with impactful favors of red and purple fruit, forest floor, campfire ash and ferrous earth. The mouthfeel is powerful, but the wine still imparts a delicate, smooth-sailing personality with good tannic management. Production is 48,000 bottles.

This red is broad and powerful, with beefy tannins laying a foundation for cherry, berry, eucalyptus and iron flavors. The savory, earth and mineral side emerges more dominant as this plays out on the burly finish.
