The estate’s 2004 Carignano del Sulcis Superiore Terre Brune exhibits gorgeous inner perfume and depth in its roses, dark cherries, plums, licorice, new leather, herbs and French oak. The silky tannins frame the ripe, sensual fruit all the way through to the long, refined finish, where an exotic combination of wild herbs, ripe fruit and licorice make a second appearance before they fade away on the close. This vibrant wine remains youthful and exuberant, but it is beautiful even at this early stage. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2024. This is another strong set of wines from Santadi.
