The 2009 St.-Joseph could turn out to be an astonishing wine offered at an incredibly fair price. Its dense purple color is followed by a liqueur of blueberry and black raspberry fruit intertwined with aromas of spring flowers. Full-bodied and opulent with a voluptuous texture, superb purity as well as length and a seamless integration of acidity, alcohol and tannin, this beauty should drink well for 10-12+ years.

Stephane Robert has produced three brilliant white wines from the up-and-coming appellation of St.-Peray. The top white cuvee is the St.-Peray Cuvee Prestige, a blend of 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne made from the estate’s oldest vines. All three of these white offerings are Rhone Valley Chablis-like wines with lots of chalky, earthy, mineral and crisp, honeyed citrus notes.
