Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Pommard 1er Cru les Rugiens from Bernard et Thierry Glantenay has a well-defined bouquet, a little leafiness filtering through the dark berry fruit with a touch of tea. The palate is medium-bodied, loose-knit and a little fleshy, but there is a lack of depth and it feels rather simplistic on the finish. Go for Glantenay's Volnays that were less affected by the hail this year. Tasted September 2017.
