Of the four wines presented by La Lecciaia this year, the 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is the weakest. The mouthfeel is plush and textured, and there is plenty of red fruit and dark blackberry to keep your attention. However, this Brunello offers moderate complexity and does not show the depth and persistence that you get from the other new releases from this estate. This expression is aged in large oak casks for 30 months. Some 50,000 bottles are produced.
