The 2007 Barolo is a pretty, seamless wine that captures the personality of the year in its ripe, juicy cherries, spices and crushed flowers. Tobacco, leather and licorice develop in the glass, adding further complexity and nuance. This doesn’t look to be a long-term ager, but as long as readers drink their bottles within the next few years that shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015.
