The 2014 Barolo is a plump and juicy expression of Nebbiolo that drinks beautifully straight out of the gate. The bouquet is redolent of black fruit and sweet cherry with subtle additions of smoke, spice and grilled herb. This vintage is thinner in the mouth, but what it lacks in extract and power it makes up for with elegance and finesse. The wine is fermented with submerged caps for 20 days and later aged in barrique for 18 months. Some 14,648 bottles were produced. This wine offers great value from an accessible vintage.
