Pale brick-colored, the 1970 Hill of Grace opens with aromas of coffee grounds, earth, meat and a touch of bacon giving way to potpourri, dried roses and dried cranberries. Elegantly fruited in the mouth, it has medium to high acid, a low level of silky tannins and a long finish. It's a very pretty and effortlessly graceful wine from a lighter year that has aged into an intriguing character very much like an old Pinot Noir. It is mature.
