The 2008 Llopart Rose Brut Reserva is a blend of 60% Monastrell, 20% Garnacha and 20% Pinot Noir that sees a minimum 18 months in bottle before secondary fermentation. It has a taut nose of Morello cherry and subtle tertiary aromas that is well-defined and fresh. The palate is crisp and citric on the entry, then that ebbs away to reveal very attractive red cherry and fresh strawberry flavours that are harmonious and precise. This is a top-notch rose Cava for the price. Just add a summer's day by the river. Drink now-2015+
Llopart have been producing sparkling wine since as early as 1887, and although I did not taste their entire portfolio, the two I did taste come recommended.
