From the unexciting 1992 vintage, Le Pupille's Morellino di Scansano exhibits good, sweet fruit, fine ripeness, plenty of cherries in the wine's aromatics and flavors, and a supple, easy-going finish. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. It is a worthy effort in this rain-plagued vintage. I have been impressed with the wines of this Tuscan estate. The small number of producers making Morellino di Scansano tend to turn out high quality wines that merit more attention, especially in view of the fact that they might be the "poor person's Brunello di Montalcino."A Leonardo Lo Cascio Selection, Winebow, Hohokus, NJ; tel.
