No one was particularly happy with the 2002 vintage in Tuscany, but the 2002 Morellino di Scansano, the house’s volume wine, offers sure drinking pleasure with its fragrant nose and round, fruity, crisp flavors. Elisabetta Geppini and Stefano Rizzi are very happy with the wines fashioned by Christian Le Sommer (former head winemaker at Latour, now consultant to Lafite’s Eric Rothschild ), and there is no reason why they shouldn’t be, as these, along with the 1999s, indicate that this is still one of the top estates of the Tuscan coast.
