The flower, hazelnut, and candied white fruit-scented 1997 Meursault is silky, medium-bodied, and, simply put, delicious. Ripe red berries and spices can be found in this smile-inducing, broad, well-ripened, rather succulent wine. It should be drunk over the next 4-5 years. Francois Mikulski fashioned delightfully ripe and rich 1997s. When asked what his pH levels were like, he responded that he never had pH tests performed on his wines and was not a fan of oenologists. He added that in 1997 he neither acidified nor chaptalized any wines.
