The 2014 Maremma Toscana Le Sughere di Frassinello shows fabulous results in a difficult vintage. This is a great value wine. Congratulations to Alessandro Cellai and the Rocca di Frassinello winemaking team. Generous and plush aromas rise from the bouquet. The mouthfeel is perhaps a bit thinner, but this wine offers offers ample power and grace in compensation. Sweet tannins mark the close with flavors of cinnamon and toasted almond.

There is a funky, earthy cast to this rich red, but the sweet cherry and plum fruit, accented by leather, spice and mineral details, makes for a complex and intense flavor profile, ending with a rustic finish.
