The 2004 Chianti Classico Riserva is full-bodied and richly-textured, as black cherries, toasted oak, tobacco and spice emerge from its structured frame. It has a lot of positive qualities, but some rough edges in the tannins remain. Bottle age may help, but only to a limited extent. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2019.
