The purple-colored 2004 Amadis is composed of 35% Carinena, 30% Garnacha, and the balance Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. It was aged in French oak for 12 months. Purple in color with a roasted bouquet of mineral, truffle, espresso, blueberry, and black cherry, on the palate this structured effort has plenty of material but is austere and lacking generosity. Give this intellectually-styled Priorat 6-8 years of additional cellaring in the hopes that it will blossom and proceed to drink it through 2024.
