The 2001 Hermitage Marquise de la Tourette boasts a terrific honeysuckle-scented nose in addition to sweet, spicy, textured notes of rose petals and ripe, buttery fruit presented in a full-bodied, dense, chewy format. A barrique-aged (50% new) cuvee that includes both Marsanne and Roussanne in the blend, it will drink well during its first 4-5 years of life, then close down for 5 or so years before re-emerging. Delas produces two Condrieu cuvees. The 2001 white wines possess good aromatics, medium body, and zesty, refreshing acidity.
