Here's a new submission from Schiavenza, and it's a wine that is only released in the best vintages. The 2016 Barolo Riserva Broglio is a brooding and powerful expression from Serralunga d'Alba (with 15% alcohol). The bouquet is busy with competing aromas of black fruit, tarry smoke, sandalwood and oak spice. The oak is strong but should soften with time. It shows lots of fullness and texture on the finish.
