On the other hand, the 2010 Pinot Noir Deer Estate Camp is a bit more polished and silky than the Temblor, but it is equally large-sized. Layers of fruit build to the rich, voluminous finish. According to winemaker John Priest, this parcel, planted with the Martini clone, benefitted from greater warmth and sunshine than the Temblor, which allowed for more even ripening and more refined expression of fruit. The Deer Camp is all about texture and structure. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018.
