Serious, the 2000 Cotes du Ventoux Cuvee Persia blanc, a 100% Roussanne cuvee aged one year in wood on its lees, is bottled with minimal clarification. Unquestionably the finest white made in Ventoux, it offers up a citrusy, honeysuckle-scented perfume with notions of rose petals. Medium-bodied and lively, with a hint of spicy oak in the background, this fresh, nicely-textured, dry white should be drunk over the next two years. This is a sensational value. My aging curve on this wine may be conservative. Why? No Ventoux estate has ever before produced wines this concentrated and balanced.Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
