The 2013 Chateauneuf du Pape is a smoking success in the vintage. A blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah that comes from mostly pebble soils (and a number of plots spread throughout the appellation), it has a ripe, sexy style to go with notes of kirsch, sweet blackberry, crushed flowers and spice. About as hedonistic and supple as they come in the vintage, it should drink nicely on release and evolve relatively quickly.
