The 1937 Richebourg Grand Cru is exceptional, blossoming in the glass to reveal notes of rose petal, black tea, raspberries, espresso roast and smoked duck. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ampler and richer than the 1937 Romanée-Saint-Vivant that accompanied it, with firmer, chewier tannins, a deep core and a long, fragrant finish. With air, the wine's structure melts, becoming more integrated and suave in profile. It's a superb example of Richebourg.
