The 2012 Chianti Classico is a deep and savory red wine with dark fruit nuances backed by distant whiffs of smoke and spice. The wine is cheerfully redolent of black cherry, prune, tobacco and pressed rose petal. It shows great inner harmony and elegance. These traits come easy to the talented winemaker Alessandro Cellai. Crisp acidity and silky tannins help to build the wine's overall intensity. I know that a score of 89+ may feel like a cop-out, but I was also very impressed with the 2013 vintage of this wine.

A mix of cherry, licorice, iron and earth flavors highlight this elegant, intense red. Long and firm on the finish, where the aftertaste evokes tea and tobacco notes. Best from 2016 through 2023. 9,200 cases made.??–BS??Region: Italy / Chianti Classico Select to Add
