The 2020 Chianti Classico is 95% Sangioveto (another name for Sangiovese) and 5% Canaiolo released in a big production of 250,000 bottles. The wine is shy or closed at first, but once it begins to open, you get signs of the hot vintage. Those come across with ripe fruit and strawberry confit. Overall, the wine is simple and easy-drinking.
