The 2014 Volnay 1Er Cru les Brouillards has a more open and expressive bouquet compared to its peers: red cherries and fresh strawberry, a touch of orange sorbet. The palate is ripe and tensile on the entry with a fine line of acidity, a little compact on the mid-palate with some hardness to be dealt with. Come bottle age, I think this will be a fine, quite punchy Volnay with a Pommard-like reserve on the finish.
