The 1997 Morellino di Scansano Riserva reveals a light medium ruby color in addition to complexity in the earthy, mineral, woodsy/foresty-scented nose. In the mouth, the wine lacks opulence and concentration, but offers a supple, straightforward style. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Shrewd value-seekers should seek out wines from the Morellino di Scansano appellation as this is increasingly becoming a source for tasty as well as, for the moment, underpriced reds.
The American importer for Fattoria Le Pupille has recently changed and I am unaware of their current representative.
