This 7.5-acre property, recently purchased by Christian Dauriac, is treated like a spoiled child. The vineyard, six different plots that average 50-years in age, is composed of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. In the challenging 2003 vintage, Dauriac’s yields were a minuscule 15 hectoliters per hectare, resulting in a reasonably fine wine. Dark ruby-colored with soft, round, creamy, oaky notes interwoven with scents of dried herbs, black cherries, and mocha, this is a seductive, but slightly superficial effort to consume over the next 6-7 years.
