Another small vineyard owned by Christian Dauriac, who has done so much to elevate the quality of his St.-Emilion estate, Destieux, the deep ruby-colored 2004 La Clemence exhibits sweet mocha, black cherry, caramel, and earthy notes, medium to full body, considerable muscle, moderate tannin, and a structured, virile personality. Although lacking charm at present, it reveals excellent potential. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018.
