For the retrospective, I was able to taste two whites, both with over a decade of bottle age. Starting with the 1999 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc, it's a beautiful rich and layered wine that lacks some of the finesse found in the 1992. Medium gold in color, with bright acidity, medium to full-bodied richness, excellent concentration and notes of white currants, honeycomb, orange blossom and hints of nuttiness, it has impressive richness and concentration, but needs another few years of cellaring to hit that sweet spot. I suspect it will keep for a decade or more after that.
