This exclusive vineyard is known for sandy soils resulting in soft and silky wines, and the 2015 Barolo Cannubi is delicate indeed. (The nearby Cerequio vineyard, by contrast, results in more austere, thick and dense wines.) This Barolo is aged in botte grande for 24 months, producing an expressive and tight wine, slightly shy at first, revealing forest berry, blue lavander and licorice. This warm vintage does offer substance and volume. The Barolo Cannubi was not produced in 2014.
