Like its 2013 counterpart, the 2014 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru displays lovely purity of fruit, offering up notes of sweet berries, baking spices, loamy soil and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, it's generous and enveloping, with powdery, somewhat more assertive tannins than the 2013. Though the wines are on a very similar qualitative level, one senses the impact of the comparatively compressed 2014 growing season on the wine's phenolics when it's contrasted with the 2013, a vintage defined by very long hang-time.
