The 2016 Latricieres Chambertin Grand Cru was the first parcel to be picked this vintage by just four vendangeurs. Because there was such difference in berry maturity due to the frost great care had to be taken. The berries that matured later were blended into other cuvées, which is why there is just one barrel this year instead of three. It has a far more complex and compelling bouquet than the Charmes-Chambertin, with a mixture of red and black fruit, cold stone and pressed flowers. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannin. This is very pure and sensual, delivering more depth and silkiness toward the finish than the Charmes-Chambertin. This is nothing short of outstanding.
