The top of the line 2003 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Salco Evoluzione is a round, generous offering endowed with sweet dark fruit, spices, minerals, new leather, toasted oak and roasted coffee beans, all of which emerge with time in the glass. Despite the heat of the vintage it shows elements of freshness and vibrancy that help to balance the substantial 2003 tannins. It is a particularly successful effort in this vintage.
