The smallest production release, with roughly 300 cases made, the 2012 C?te R?tie La Garde is 100% Syrah that sees a full 36 months in new French oak. More closed, backward and tight than the other cuvees, it reluctantly gives up firm, edgy notes of black raspberry, liquid smoke and violets. Medium to full-bodied, with firm tannin and juicy acidity, it’s in need of 4-5 years of cellaring and will have upward of two decades of longevity.
