One of the most concentrated wines in the vintage is the 2013 C?te R?tie la Garde. Made from 100% Syrah from both the C?te Blonde and C?te Brune, it included 10% stems, was vinified all in stainless steel and will see upwards of three years in oak before bottling. Medium to full-bodied, ripe, beautifully concentrated and with ripe tannin, it offers lots of sweet oak in its plums, currants, scorched earth and meaty, smoky personality. I suspect it will have the texture to shows reasonably well on release, yet it will benefit from 4-5 years of cellaring and evolve for a decade or more past that.
