Tasted at the Académie du Vin dinner in Bordeaux, I had to try the 1977 Cos Labory from magnum because, on paper, it should have been undrinkable. It was not that. Sure, there was little on the enervated nose, lifeless after four decades—probably lifeless after a couple of years, given the reputation of the vintage. The palate is dry, a bit mean and certainly lacking vigor, but you know, it was not undrinkable. That's the best compliment that I can give. Tasted April 2017.
