The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Molino del Piano is an immediately approachable wine that you can enjoy upon release. The wine is plump, juicy, bold, and it shows a pretty core of dark red and purple fruit aromas. As the bouquet begin to open, the wine shows meatier aromas of spice, hummus, pipe tobacco and terracotta. As expansive as this wine appears on the nose, the mouthfeel is leaner and shorter compared to the 2010 vintage. In fact, the persistence is moderate at best.
