This is an excellent wine from Beaumont, a property sandwiched between the famous appellations of Pauillac and Margaux. Their 2005 has attractive plum, black cherry and blackcurrant fruit dominating the nose along with medium body, soft tannins and a round, juicy mouthfeel. Drinkable now, this wine should continue to offer delicious consumption over the next 4-5 years.

Very nice, ripe style of fruit. Lots of weight. Promising wine with cru classé proportions. More roundness to come, exciting.

87-89 Barrel sample. Very ripe, almost sweet fruit gives this wine a delicious, open, generous feel. Red fruits are the dominant character, layered with some spicy new wood that develops at the end.——R.V.(6/21/2006)—— 88
