The first bottle I tasted of the 1929 was musty and undoubtedly tainted by a bad cork, but a second bottle exhibited a mature amber/garnet color with considerable rust at the edge. The wine offered up a sweet fruitcake, Asian spice, gingery bouquet, with considerable evidence of sur-maturitie (over-ripeness). Sweet and rich on the palate, as well as remarkably intact, yet showing some acidity and rough tannin, this wine has aged fabulously well. Last tasted 12/95
