The 1985 Pavie-Decesse has turned out to be even better than Pavie. Very deep in color, with an intense aroma of blackcurrant fruit, toasty oak, and tar-like scents, this rich, long, very big and structured wine has loads of fruit that is tightly bound in a full-bodied format. It should be a very long-lived 1985. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 3/90.
