Cask samples and two tastings following bottling offer convincing evidence that in 1992, Pavie-Decesse, the less expensive sibling of Pavie, produced the better wine. The dark ruby color is followed by some spicy, earthy fruit in the nose to go along with subtle wood and herbaceous notes. Spicy in the mouth, this medium-bodied, narrowly constructed, austere, muscular St.-Emilion will benefit from 1-2 years of aging and last for 5-6 years.
