The medium to full-bodied 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape offers up a lovely bouquet of pepper-dusted cherries. A blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah and 5% Cinsault, with most of the aging done in tank, it's supple, creamy and lush in the mouth, with plenty of flavor intensity and length on a silky finish. Already approachable, it looks to have the concentration and depth to age well at least through 2035.

Deeper-colored with more extract and richness as well as better acidity, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape retains the elegance and attractive rich fruit found in the 2009, but larger volume and a more concentrated, slightly longer mouthfeel. It should drink well for 10-12 years. The medium dark ruby-colored 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits lots of garrigue, lavender, pepper, spicy Provencal herb and kirsch notes. It is a classic, sexy/seductive, upfront Provencal wine to drink over the next 7-8 years.
