Packaged in a 375-milliliter bottle, the 2014 Vin San Giusto is a blend of 92% Malvasia and 8% Trebbiano submitted to a careful air-drying process and extremely long cellar aging. All this meticulous work translates into a wine that virtually transcends vintage and the human hand. Indeed, this is a wine that makes itself thanks to the extreme methods it is submitted to. A precious 1,098 bottles exist, and the hallmark of this wine—a low alcohol content—is measured here at 9.5%. To the palate, this sweet wine shows thick, syrupy density, and you get clove, spice, dried apricot, chestnut honey and maple syrup. There's even a fragrant hint of wild porcino mushroom.
