The 2008 Barbera d’Alba Brichet flows with generous dark red fruit, mint, flowers and spices, all of which come together effortlessly on a plush, mid-weight frame. The Brichet shows beautiful poise and harmony all the way through to the polished finish. It is a commendable effort in a challenging year. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2013. Giuseppe Caviola is best known as the consulting oenologist to a number of top estates in Piedmont, but the wines he makes at his winery in Dogliani are equally deserving of attention.
