Due to hail, the 2014 Beaune 1er Cru Pertuisots was cropped at just seven hectoliters per hectare, and therefore there is only one barrel. It has a light, earthy nose that does feel as if it lost some of its energy. The palate is actually much better and maybe more representative: orange zest and red cherries, good structure here with bitter cherry on the finish. Hopefully that nose will meliorate by the time of bottling.
