The Beaune Les Marconnets is rich, deep, and flattering. It has surprising body and muscle for a 1987. Very deep in color, it shows a good lashing of toasty, smoky oak, plenty of pure black cherry flavors, and a long, tannic finish. It should be at its best between 1995-2005.
If you are looking for old-style, impeccably made, extremely age-worthy Premiers Crus from the Cote de Beaune, look no further than this superbly run domaine.
