The 1997 Barolo Vigna Conca (100 cases produced) reveals a maple syrup/brown sugar-like aroma intermixed with scents of cherry liqueur, rose petals, tobacco, and spice. A corpulent, highly extracted, low acid, plum wine with a boatload of glycerin as well as flavors, it is one of the most hedonistic Barolos from this luxurious, decadently-styled vintage. Drink it over the next 12-15 years. A Marc de Grazia Selection, various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300, Vin Divino, Chicago, IL; tel.
